A rather frantic trip this year as it was squeezed in between third season cow and fourth season buck windows. I had promised a young fella a llama that had come down with a hernia and was forced into an early retirement from the rental herd... Packing 8 miles out, pasturing the animals, un-packing, re-packing for WT and an all day drive to the ranch. Sometimes getting the "free meat" seems like it really aint all that "free!"

Weather was incredibly warm this year which made for some very slow days, especially in the evenings as it was so hot and that huge full moon was available for their midnight romancing.

A nice little guy that came to see what was up there.

All in all a good time was had with nary a depletion of the buck population, although 43 were closely scrutinized in 3 days, a few does were not as fortunate as they were added to the ranch sausage supply... Even a bad hunt on this ranch is a very good hunt!
