After enough time, we all must face the fact of "the Cricle of Life". We have to let loved ones, good dogs, and old trucks go their way.
I talked to Billy last night, setting up a quick hunt for this week. He told me he had to cut down the Cherry Tree.....just too old to carry on any more.
The Cherry Tree stand was the "GO TO" stand, and more times than no,t gave us a shot. It was a simple wooden platform, 5 gallon bucket for a seat, about 12' up the Old girl, nestled on a long branch, back in the East corner of Billy's Dad's farm. May not see a buck of the lifetime, probably just a nice freezer filler, but there were enough times, over the past 25 yrs, that somebody got their shot at a Good one!
A couple years ago, I took two bucks, in two days, and spent a total of 30 min hunt time !
So......she's gone. But those blistering hot & cold ass hour's, the yellow jacket's buzzing, the 150 yds over to the hardwood tree row, sunrises, sunsets, will be in my heart forever..............
