Eastwood produced & directed, a 1928-35 period drama set in Los Angeles. Each role well acted. Jolie is excellent in a non-glamorous dramatic lead and very good characterizations by the supporting actors. Disturbing on numerous levels. A little slow and tense but a thumbs up.
