When I was a child and grandma and grandpa were still alive all the aunts and uncles and cousins would spend the night and we would have a turkey day pheasant hunt until whatever time grandma said dinner would be ready. When the pheasant population declined our tradition went away but my dad and I would duck hunt until the football games started. Now that we are all grown and moved away thanksgiving morning is usually spent wishing we were all together in the field. As my kids get older I look forward to spending the morning with them waiting for the phone call that the turkey and potatoes are ready. What is your thanksgiving day hunting tradition?

When I was a kid days off for my dad were few, and hunting put meat on the table. He always had Thanksgiving Day off and we almost always went out to a friend's ranch to fill whitetail doe tags and our A tags. Loved those days of deer hunting in the morning and a big family dinner in the evening.
