Heading to SE Missouri for my first teal hunt Monday evening. Doing three mornings in Missouri rice fields and two evenings across the state line on Reelfoot.

Weather has been great here in Indiana but I see mid 90s for the whole trip down in Missouri/Tennessee. Besides light clothing, ammo, and Thermocells anything I need to me mindful of?

First hunt of the fall so mostly just looking to get excited with some fellow hunters. Worklife has been a challenge for both the wife and I this year so getting out and away is going to be extra special.

Guided, or DIY?

And does TN allow wood ducks in early teal season?

We restored a wetland on our farm last year. The ducks have been loving it. Teal last weekend for me during teal season and my daughter got her first ducks (3 woodies and a mallard) with her trusty .410 this morning for youth season.

Guided.

Yes. Wood duck and teal 9/13-9/17.
Listen to the guide, shoot steel 6, and don’t shoot the first teal to land- the rest will follow on the next pass.

RoboDove works almost better than the teal.

Awesome and thanks! I got a case of upland 3in bismuth blends. They are advertised for pheasants but the guide said they are his favorite teal pills.

I second this.. Early season equals bugs and snakes... In Florida, we hunt in our swimsuits and old sneakers.
The mosquitoes and no-see-ums will carry you away.
