Got a text from my father this morning that he wanted to give me something and to stop by when I had a chance. OK, somewhat normal for him with giving me fish or something. Today was different. He handed me my grandfather's Winchester Model 12 shotgun! I knew it was coming to me in his will along with grampa's .22 but he said he wanted to make sure I got it. I ran the serial number and it was made in 1928. He was born in 1912 so he would have been 16 when he bought it. Guessing sales price was around $40 which was quite a bit for a teenager living on a farm. I'll take a couple pictures later to post and I already have a spot to hang it for display here in the house.
