I just bought a Stevens model 311 in 410 with 20 inch barrels and vent rib. Very nice condition. Going by the serial number the manufacture year is 1953.
Now for the question. Did stevens manufacture a 20 inch barrel 410 or do you think someone has shortened it. If cut ,they did an excellent job. Vent rib and all.
