This coming weekend is the Sportsman's show in my area..... have not been in at least a decade.
I would like to get more info about booking an Elk or Deer hunt, I have never been, & the last several years have not had the opportunity to go with any friends that hunt. At 65, I am getting yancy. I feel like its now or never, My question is:
Is this a good way to go about it or am I wasting my time & rare Saturday off??
Should I go sight in my new 45-70 at the range??
Any comments/ suggestions are appreciated, thank you.

Not a waste of time at all. The Sportsman’s Show is a great place to talk directly with outfitters, ask beginner questions, and see what your options are for an elk or deer hunt. At 65, if you’re feeling “now or never,” this is exactly the right step to take.
If you can, do both: spend a few hours at the show, then go sight in your new 45-70. That way you get information and range time. Either way, you’re moving closer to making it happen and that’s what counts.

Agreed. I would add. At 65 you can judge folks pretty well I assume. Better so then emails and phone calls. If I can shake a hand and have a brief conversation I will know fairly quickly if its worth investigating further. Shows are a great place to make that happen.

You guys bring up excellent points......thank you so much......Ill let you know how it goes.!!!
