I've inherited a couple real nice Ithaca Mod 37's with Deerslayer slug barrels that don't serve much purpose anymore as my home state and adjoining states now allow rifles.
Thought I might get vent rib upland game barrels for them so they might see some use with myself or family members.

Ithaca has them on their website but they are quite pricey. Wondering if anyone else sells these?

not always but with certain serial numbers, the barrels have to get custom fitted to the action and that can really get pricy. i found out the hard way,

Serial # 855,000 is the dividing like for Model 37's. Above that supposedly barrels are interchangeable. Below that they need gunsmithing for proper headspace.

I once sent the barrel of my model 37 below that number to a gunsmith to install threaded chokes. The barrel was stolen so I had to get another one. What an ordeal that became when I learned about the need to have it fitted for headspace.

I ended up sending the one I paid $200 and my action, to a former Ithica gunsmith in New York, retired from the company, but freelancing.

He did the work, was expensive, yet there was a feeding glitch, and I had to send it back again.

Check your serial number before you go down this road, make sure any barrel you buy is a match and if your 37 is below 855,000 expect to need to get it fitted.

There are a couple of 28 inch and a 30 inch on gunbroker. Currently in the 250.00 range.
