Well we headed back up in the mountains where we left the buggling elk a week ago to find only bears and goats. Seems most of them have moved down lower and quit buggling except for the one toad of a bull that decided to tease us by bedding 100 yards down the hill from our camp the night before the opener. We did hear a few half arsed buggles over the three days I was up there, but nothing was responding to any kind of calling. My two big muley bucks disappeared too. Instead of tromping up and down the mountains, I pulled out early to come chase antelope and deer around town. I've never hunted antelope before, so I'm really excited to get out there and blow some stalks. Here's a few pictures from the trip. Although the hunting was slow, I still had a great time. Hopefully things will pick up by the time I make back from the river in two weeks and I'll have some pictures with some horn in them. Good luck to everyone else and keep the pictures coming.
