Hey guys,
I'm hoping someone can give me some first hand knowledge on a question I have. I'm planning on going to blacktail hunting up in SE Alaska in August. My goal is to kill a nice blacktail in velvet up in the alpine. Does anyone know when the bucks shed their velvet. I know these dates are a bit different depending on the deer and location around the country. My schedule is pretty flexible so I want to let the bucks grow to their full potential but also try to knock one down before they start to strip the velvet or it gets loose.
