Short afternoon hunt

Took off work a little early and hit the marsh. It was too nice of a day for very good hunting, but I managed four birds that fell hard for the set up.

Here is a shot of Axl bringing back our first pintail of the year. Good color on this guy.

Paddled out a little early but got to take in some nice scenery.

This was the view from one side of the boat...

...and from the other.

Ended up with two mallard drakes, the pintail and ooopps, a mallard hen (she must have been changed genders right after she fell).

Decided to sleep out under the stars and hit it again this morning. Too bad the rain screwed up my sleep. Maybe I will give it another shot this afternoon.

I didn't make the half opener here..hopefully I'll make southwest, you're making me jealous. Great photos, thanks for sharing, and give that dog an extra pound on the head for loving his job so much.
