Some guys from work had said about hunting this area second week over the counter, I'm thinking 2 years until I can make it out but was wondering what you all think of the place ? I'm sure it will be crowded if hunting near the road but how about back in a bit ? Thanks guys

First couple days of season it is pretty crowded but be prepaired to stay the entire season as the elk move out with the pressure then return in a few days as the hunters leave the area. Good area.

I'm not looking for specifics just wondering if anyone killed elk there before consistently back off the road ?

It has been years since I have been there but we entered the BLM north of the mountain a couple miles and walked in.We came in fron highway 13 to the west. This acess may have changed by now.Alot of access to areas in Colorado has been sold or closed in the last few years.
