Now that this hunt is online, I decided to watch it again. It is a special hunt to me. My nephew, Cody, was 17 at the time and had never been hunting out west. For him to have a hunt like this was as special for me, as it was for him.
He is now in year two of a four-year Marine Corp enlistment. When we visit, he always talks about our next elk hunt.

If you get a chance, take someone hunting who may otherwise not have been able to go, whether young, old, or in between. You will both be better for the experience.

At time code 9:50 and 13:35 you will see encounters with old "One Beam." Cody's comment at 11:15 turned out to be very telling.
Cody decided to pass, thinking the bull would be a better trophy for someone the following year, once he had both beams. Well, I stalked the same bull, on the same ridge, last September, during the NM archery season.
I waited for 15 minutes in hopes that Old One-Beam would rise from his bed and allow me to arrow him. From the distance of 28 yards, I could see that One-Beam was not a broken off bull, rather a bull that never grew an antler on that side. Had Cody known that, I am pretty sure Old One-Beam would have been the star of the episode you see at the link above.
