Lot's of mule deer cooling off this last weekend along the Salmon River. I thought this was a pretty cool shot of these three bucks hanging out so I stopped.

All facing the same direction, was the wind coming left to right? Very cool to see.

I use to raft he salmon every year and pick blackberries up there and always loved seeing buck come down for water and shade. That is probably my favorite place in Idaho. Great pics too!

I was up there this weekend as well and saw many mule deer with fawns down by the river. It was a cooker over there this weekend.

That's a great once in a lifetime picture. Help me out with deer behavior wouldn't they be safest facing down wind so they can smell what is behind them otherwise a predator could sneak upwind behind them where they were not looking?

Nice pictures! I had a friend that found 3 smoker bucks this past weekend above the Little Salmon River. Unfortunately he said they weren't hanging out for pictures.

It was pretty amazing seeing those guys, there were quite a few others...but the highway only allowed me this opportunity to take the picture of these. I imagine there are even more this week with the temps being higher.
