Rocky Mountain Bighorn Cape* sold

I have a very nice wet 2022 Rocky Mountain Bighorn Cape for sale. Gutted, tubed legs, rolled and frozen. Nice dark 9 year old ram, 16” bases killed in August 2022. I went with a euro and I’d like this cape to go to someone that could put it to good use. Not sure on the market, but asking $2500.

Congratulations on your ram, looks like you’re at very least a 1/2 slammer. I think that’s a fair price for a full body rocky hide but I think most taxidermist prefer a dorsal cut instead of a belly cut for a full body

Thank you! Unfortunately the Dall in my avatar isn’t mine. I was fortunate enough to work as a packer on a Chugach hunt a couple years ago. So the RM is my only sheep.

I know the gut cut wasn’t preferred, but it’s what we needed to do in the field. I did have it inspected by my taxidermist and he assured me it could be used as a full and was a clean single straight gut cut that would stitch nicely.

Just trying to figure out how to convince the state to put my name and and phone number in the sheep/goat brochure as a free hunting partner to anyone that draws a tag. I’m pretty good at carrying stuff.
