Last week in Feb. Is truck topper camping viable @ Chaco then or will I want the Kodiak tent w a heater? Probably 1-2 nights @ Chaco. Then working in town, ABQ. I've visited Santa Fe many times, never ABQ. I'll have adventure time every afternoon for 5 days, staying just north of Old Town. Restaurants, landmarks, beverages w HTers, museums, culture, retail, music...what do you recommend?

Thanks in advance.

Elkduds I lived in ABQ ( Rio Rancho) for about a year in 2014-2015. Unfortunately we didn't get to enjoy all it had to offer, but we did LOVE Sadies Mexican restaurant. The Marble Brewery tap room is pretty nice as well.

Santa Fe has probably the best food I have ever had.... Sunrise Cafe.

Chaco in Feb. could be single digits, probably teens. Could snow.

Rancho Cafe, good food in several spots around town. Garcia's is good Mex. food. Rudy's BBQ...all in Alb.
Santa Fe has great food and is an hour from Alb.
Pecos Nat. Monument is amazing, like GQ mentioned above..2 hrs from Alb.
Pie Town has great pie(only 1cafe open in Feb), 1 1/2 hrs...and too many elk to drive at night tho. LOL. Good long loop thru El Malpais past Acoma & Zuni ,over to 25 via Sawtooths and San Augustine Plains. Again, a lot of elk on roads at night.

Oh man just ate at the Range in Rio Rancho the day before heading out for late season elk in late October. Man I miss breakfast burritos covered in Christmas!
