Our bad neighbors are back at it again. The new neighbors just moved in and are good folks with boys my son’s age. The boys have blisters on their thumbs from riding the ATVs so much.

They took it to cutting a new trail loop around the property.

The bad neighbors decided that it wasn’t ok and is now shooting a steel plate alongside the property line anytime we go back to work.

Yesterday he had put tannerite along the property line and shot it when I was about 40 yards away. 30 yards into the property the trail is on.

Called the state police and was told we have to catch him in the act and unfortunately it’s more reactive. If you get hurt then they will enforce it. I have to have them show up when he is doing it or take a fragment / bullet. God, I need friends in low places….

How do you know it was tannerite. If you are sure I think I would give ATF a call if he has a record depending on what it is he can't have it.

Hearing loss, explosions have pressure problems with sinuses and let alone stress maybe even a panic attack, go to hospital, even better next time call 911 and lay there

I don’t but it was a rifle initiated explosion which would be the reasonable cheap thing to do. That is legal to have here.

We had a crazy neighbor a couple doors down that got the bright idea to do a bunch of shooting on his half acre lot. He and a few buddies were out there for hours shooting hundreds of rounds with no safe backstop. When they finally quit I checked things out and the rounds were all going onto our property and a bunch of my trees and fence were shot to hell.

Had a little visit with him after that and told him he could not be shooting anything that he couldn't safely contain on his own property, then had the Sherriff pay him a visit to reinforce the legality and safety issues.
He was pretty good about things and very nice, and they've not done it again since. I offered to help him get signed up to our local gun club only about two miles away where he could safely shoot all he wants, but he's yet to take me up on the offer.

Suggest you have a visit with this neighbor if you have not already. Sounds very dangerous.

The relationship is completely over years ago. This is just a continuation of bad encounters. It’s like dealing with a paranoid schizophrenia meth head with no sleep.

I recall earlier threads...really a shame to have to deal with.

Play the tannerite game back with him. 40 yards? Catch him at 30. What's good for the goose, and all that stuff. You already know what the cops will say when he calls. Sounds like he needs a good scare, and an ass kicking. Best of luck!
