Quiz for bird nerds out there

Nearly all the plovers I have found in MT were associated with prairie dog towns.
Mt miller when I used to shoot p-dogs alot here in AZ there was a bird like this that hung around p-dog towns, they hung aorund in big groups as well 5-20 birds at a time.

I didn't now BLM biologist cared about animals they couldn't shoot????
Did I mention that I was on a prairie dog town? :D

Actually I am pretty lucky to see some of the wildlife that is rare in other parts of the country, but is doing well around here in MT. I also ran into quite a few burrowing owls and was in an area that holds record class elk and bighorns.

Delw, cool that you saw the birds. They might be pretty bland, but after knowing how few there are, it makes it memorable.

I hear ya! Burrowing owls are pretty neat. We were keeping an eye on a couple of active nests, but a badger found them, thus no more owls.
