Question about tariffs and ordering direct from an Italian supplier

My wife has a pasta press.

Its made in Italy. It can do flats, spaghetti and soemthing else.

She wants more molds for it, but we've had trouble finding it in the US. (Her birthday is coming in April).

We can order online direct through their website.

Its not clear how much the tariff is to me because of all the confusion over which countries pay what tariff for each amount, and exactly when it gets paid.

Where can I get a definitive answer.

The items are not cheap, nor terribly expensive, but we do have a tight budget, so I need to consider all the costs.

Have you looked at EBay or Amazon? You may find parts in the states.

Due diligence is important. Call or email the seller if possible and see if they can calculate it. I got absolutely hosed on a couple climbing devices early on. Cost me double in tariffs and fees what I paid for the devices. Got the bill after I had already accepted and used the gear.

If their answer is you will pay the fees upon arrival I would steer clear. I’ve had great interactions buying oversees in the last year as well but that one made me sick.

Yes. There are some attachments in the states, but more complex ones are more difficult to find, if at all.

You don’t see the tariffs in the payment cart?

Baseline tariff for Italy is 10%. You could ask the manufacturer to make sure of the exact tariff rate.

So its more complicated.

If I put my addresses in the cart, it does not show the US as a possible destination.

(I had not put my address in until after I started this thread, so didn’t notice that issue)

My wife buys steel from all over the world, if tariffs are a thing with the supplier, you'll know it before you hit the "pay" button.
