I am forty minutes from the MN border. Would love to have another pup. In January my Fr Britt had a tumor removed the size of a softball. Cancer but a kinder variety. She will be twelve in two months so "long term prognosis" is limited no matter what. Black Lab Ellie turns eight on the thirteenth. I don't think she will age gracefully. Not sure I will either at 70+. I had three dogs for many years so that isn't an issue. And the best dog of my life was a small Lab-golden cross. I don't think Ethyl weighed more than fifty pounds. She was hell on honkers.

Anyway, you have me thinking ... thoughts I probably should not be thinking at my age. Everyone knows I would provide a terrible home for another dog. I just spent over ten grand on vet bills for Puppy. And that's not the record. Pearl easily cost me $15K the last 2.5 years of her life.

And to confirm, fully grown mom and dad are 35 and 45 lbs, respectively?
Yes here is a photo I just took of the mother next to a rooster pheasant mount. Was able to get her to sit on a scale and she was at 37.6.

Amazing. Definitely NOT English Lab with that thin build and long nose. The legs are also proportionately longer than English breed. Nice size. My Fr Brittany weighs about that and she is small for her breed ... which are typically MUCH smaller than Labs.

Good looking pups. I'd love a little black girl but MN is a little further than I care to go.
