My wife and I got out this morning for a mule deer hunt out in the desert. Started checking the sage about a half mile back from some farms and came up with this fella. Not a monster by any means, but a great day and a fun hunt.

I don't think I have ever seen one hung up at home ungutted. Why would you do that? just wondering..

A un gutted animal hanging is really easy, we do it all the time with sheep at my uncles ranch but we have a backhoe to bury all the guts. I would hate to be the trash guy on Thursday.

Got him just a few miles from the house, and not real far from the truck. Just slid him into the back of the truck and took him home. Figured it would be easier and cleaner with a hose and a 4 wheeler trailer under him to catch and haul off the gut pile. Don't ask my why I hung it with hind legs up........took him down and rehung with head up before we started on the task.

Thanks, Been not enough time for hunting the past few years. Building a house and going back to school has been hell on my free time. Finally all done and enjoying 4 day work weeks. Next up, got an extra whitetail doe tag to fill. Spent the day breaking down this deer into edible pieces...
