Anyone familiar with the area? I guess i will be there for a week in October for work. Looks like it is basicly LA, so that sucks.... I was hopeing the "California bike week" was someplace north of there on the coast.

Yeah there may be races at either the County Fairgrounds in Pomona or at California Speedway in IRwindale - about 20 minutes from Pomona. Send me a PM when it gets closer and maybe we can get together for lunch or dinner if you want. I work in Rosemead, which is probably 20-30 minutes from Pomona.

Pomona isn't the best place to visit(unless you like hookers and drug dealers) but there is stuff to do around the area outside of Pomona. The San Gabriel canyon can have some ok trout fishing in the fall and Big Bear Lake can be really good fishing in the fall too. There are a couple of race tracks around the area, one in Irwindale a few miles away to the west for some sprint car and NASCAR style racing on a short track. The Ontario speedway is about the same distance to the east if there is a race going on but it can turn into a zoo, there is also a dirt track in Perris about 40 miles southeast of Pomona where they usually have sprint cars on the weekend. Bowhunting isn't too bad in the foothills in October if you can find some public access. Quail and chukar open the third weekend of the month and that can be fun if you go out to the desert to the north. Of course the yellowtail and a lot of top water fish are hitting well out in the ocean in the fall also. Hope that helps...:D
