Hey crew, figured I'd give a little back story on the place I applied to down here in South Florida. There's a wild place down here know as Picayune Strand.
this WMA was recently opened back up for Muzzle loader and General Gun quotas. not sure how it is in other places but the quotas are set weeks or weekends in which only a certain number of tags will be issued. since this is only about half an hour from the house I figured id apply for all available quotas. I drew muzzle loader weekend and the last week long gun hunt too.
What makes this place so cool in my opinion is it was originally purchased and cleared for residential.
lots of guys hunt from swamp buggies, but I've been enjoying jump shooting/ slip hunting. only spotted does so far but I'm confident that gun season will yield a buck with what ive scouted out so far.
totally applying for next season here too.
