Pack Weight

The said company wouldn't just sell packs, it could sell and market whatever it wanted to as long as it met the light-weight and quality concept.

Personally I think the idea would catch on. I like not being beat up after a hunt, and the weight you pack in has a lot to do with that.

Plenty of companies out there marketing lightweight products. (including packs)

The largest weight differential between packs that you mentioned in your first post is 4lb 3oz.
If carrying an extra 4lb 3oz during a hunt "beats you up"... Then I think you need to find a new hobby. (Try to avoid bowling too.. the balls are heavy)
