Been looking forward to hunting this year for many reasons, but this is one of them. Leaving tomorrow to go do an overnight trip with my water system, tent, and stove that I'll have in WY next year. The sleeping bag may get replaced at some point for a synthetic bag, but this one will do just fine. Will probably try to extend out to a 3 day, 2 night trip once rifle season opens.

Well, I got camp set up around noon and then went out for the evening. Found a scrape line and sat it. Had this 7 pt come from behind me and I shot him at 30 yards with my muzzleloader. My best buck and longest pack out (2.5 miles). I'll go back to get my camp tomorrow and I'll hunt the evening.

Well I got camp packed up and ate lunch and now I'm set up a little closer to the car on a heavily used deer trail. I know this area is pressured more, but there's some pretty fresh sign so I'm hoping I get some deer movement. Also hoping the mosquitoes stay calm since I forgot my thermacell again. I'll be glad to take a fat doe from here. Three deer is a good number for us to eat and last night was the first of the year.
