i figured the city do gooder folks from oregon would be foolish enough to get enough signatures to get it on the november vote,,hope it gets voted down hard like our gas tax did

Really have to wonder where we are headed. The freakin crazies are actually getting closer to taking over. How far would that petition have made it in the 60’s or 70’s ?

This is why constitutional right to hunt and fish initiatives are so important, particularly ballot initiative 303 in Colorado. We could easily see something like a watered down version of IP28 here in Colorado based on the growth of anti-hunting organizations here.

For all the “No one is trying to take away hunting….” apologists. You are just dead wrong.

i p 28 would be terrible for oregon if it ever actually passes,,would have a lot of economic issues that they are not thinking about,{of course they will try to disguise that part}

Already has enough signatures to get on the ballot. Sure hope there is an uprising against it, but as we know, sometimes a small area, but high population will get stuff passed.

Hopefully it doesn't.

However, it sounds like it will be on the ballot and I wouldn't take it for granted that Oregon can find enough sane people to defeat this.

It's absurd that it qualified for the ballot, but that's not very difficult in Oregon. I'm sure they got many of those signatures with deceptive tactics: "Do you want to end animal cruelty?"

I live in a pretty blue area and I don't know a single person in favor of it. The locavore movement is strong in Oregon and this would destroy local ranches. Nobody likes rats and it would end pest management. Common veterinary practices out the window. Some county Democrat chapters have already come out against it even.

They wont be able to keep the charade up when they get to the ballot title process. Oregon Hunters Association will successfully challenge their ballot title. We've done it before.

A reminder for Oregon residents, and anyone that wants to support us from out of state, join or renew your OHA membership. There is a big media push coming now that this nonsense has qualified for the ballot and we can use all the support we can get.

Yes OHA has been doing a great job since the beginning of this crap as they have for years.

This has a writing style to it that seems geared to raise the hackles of the opponents more than raise support from your average Portlander. Rage bait maybe?

The eastern 2/3 of Oregon might just use this as more traction to split the state

Sounds like there is a plan.

It is definitely scary. People against it do not matter...people against it and willing to vote do. It is definitely wild.
