I want to publicly thank Randy Newberg and the Hunt Talk Forum for all the advice and motivation.

It was years ago when I came across Randy’s Fresh Tracks TV program. It was this program that challenged me to start hunting again.

The past 2 years I’ve archery hunted elk in Montana. No easy task but lovedevery minute of it and learned so much. Eating my tags wasn’t so bad because of the friends I get to hunt with and just being back in the woods again. Priceless!

This past weekend I met up with son in Oklahoma for a Whitetail hunt. We both have been working hard on our archery skills and finally got a chance to hunt together. My son took a break from his studies and baseball at OU to hunt a beautiful ranch in Oklahoma. I was there to watch him take his first Whitetail Buck and Doe. The experience made my top ten list of life experiences. Memories for life!

Thank you again to all.

Nothing more rewarding for a Dad than to accompany his son on a hunt. A successful hunt is even more rewarding. Nice Buck! Congrats to your son.

Congrats, great deer. There are some big hogs down there. That should be your next hunt over the winter.

Congrats to him on a dandy buck and to you for going hunting with him! You two will relive that for a long time.

PS- What position does he play? Baseball at that level can't leave much on the table in the form of free time. Good luck to him!

PPS- Glad to see a young, current baseball player not going for the completely 'flat bill' look with his hat! Now to convince my 9yo to do the same...

Kyle is a middle infielder. He has pretty much be gone from home the day after he graduated High School. We see him at Christmas break and after the games we attend. Tough grind for any student athlete but he wouldn't want it any other way. He was able to hunt this weekend by not attending the OUvsTexas football game.

Middle infield means he can pick it! That is a lot of commitment Good luck to your son! Hope he gets a shot at the next level.

Thanks! He does okay. ;) :)
