Not much of a day off, but at least I am done getting wood for this year. Well, we spotted another dead giant on the way out, might have to get that one too.

Figured about 3.5 cords in three trees. One tree was a WHOPPER.

You think this one made a sound when it hit the ground? It filled the big truck over the racks. And we lost the top 20 feet of it up the hill, when it shattered into pieces.

Who wants to help split? (crickets chirping, lone coyote howling in the distance)

Me too. And I like shoveling snow also. Probably because I never had to do it. And I sit in an office all day so when I do real work it's therapeutic and refreshing.

Cause we go out of our way to leave that root rotted piss fir standing. I ain't touching it. Its those ID guys that go cutting up all that whitewood.LOL, There isn't any branches for the first 50 feet of these big ol doug firs.

Back when we had a house that we used to heat with wood during the winter we were poor and usually ended up with the knarly twisted red fire. What a total PITA! But, we were young back then too.
