Had a slow start to the season, couldn't turnup many bears. When I started to find some they all were sows with cubs. One sow had 3 cubs with her. Still pretty fun to watch.

My hunting partner wasn't much help glassing....
Had to wake her to tell her to put her orange on over her puffy instead of under it. Should have let her sleep...
Finally found one by itself. Spotted it at almost 3 miles away. Found a gated road to walk that got me within a mile. GF got to watch everything through the spotter from the truck. The bear was above me the whole time.

It was too steep for me to see it so I kept sneaking up and caught it in the timber. Shot was 50-60 yards.

The bear was down at around 8:40. Thunderstorm rolled in at 9:00. At 9:02 I realized I left my headlamp, rain jacket, and game bags in the truck....
I didn't have service so after dodging lightning and getting the bear skinned and quartered, I walked back to the truck to check in so the GF didn't get worried. She volunteered to go back up with me so I gave her my rain jacket and put on my only dry layer to stay warm. We hiked back up and as we started getting ready for the pack out the next wave of rain started. I was starting to shiver so I figured I better get to hiking soon to warm up.

It worked. I warmed up real quick. Got back to the truck at 11 and home by midnight. Work really sucked the next day. Overall a very memorable hunt and a super fun stalk.
Bonus grizz I saw at work later that week
