Soooo.....who’s headed to NE New Mexico to hunt lope this weekend? I’ll be out east of Roy, NM this weekend. Looking for a big one. I hope all your go, or are going, well!

I guess I’m the only one headed that way for the last weekend of lope season. I’ll let you guys know how it goes.

One day just need a tag first. I was around Clayton the first of this month seemed pretty dry but only my second time there so not sure compared to a average year.

That is some cool country. I took a nice buck off of McLaughlin Peak several years ago.
You should see some nice bucks, good luck.

I hunted near Logan last week with my son. He had a doe tag. The pigweed pollen about killed me. Seriously. It was crazy. I could not swallow Benadryl fast enough.

Are you hunting on a public draw or landowner tag? Either way good luck!

My fiance is the bio for the Kiowa so I get to spend quite a bit of time in that country. It sure is a beautiful area with no shortage of animals. We will be out there come October for her deer hunt and I can't wait.

First thing I noticed about those pronghorn is they will readily jump a fence, at least they did the area I hunted.
Instead of looking for a underwire crossing they flew right over when encountered along the roadway.

Have a great hunt!

So much for my learning that Pronghorn don't jump fences.I've seen Mule Deer bucks run up to a fence go belly down, turn thier antlers left and right.Bingo under the fence slickr'than snot.He could have just jumped it and been gone.
