Spent the day with ole friends on the river. These 2 guys are avid fly fisherman I use a spinner reel and ware shorts. Still limited out in 2 hrs. and then went on a fossil hunting mode the rest of the day. By the end I was wore out from the fast water and slick rocks.

This part of the river is one of the oldest rivers on the North American Continent and you can finds hundreds of fossils and embedded fossil prints in the bed rock.

Hey Dave nice pics! I wasn't aware that the potomac had trout in it?? I am about 15 minutes from Harpers ferry. Any areas around there I should try for trout? I have been hitting trout pond and Sherando lake and would like to find something closer to home for trout. Any ifo would be appreciated

RR I will check into the streams in that area. I know there are a few, I've fished them but years ago. North West Branch is a good fish for a day. For you its about a 1.5 drive. Not bad at all.
