This year I was extremely lucky to draw a december coues tag in New Mexico however, I was only able to make it out there on opening day.

On that first morning a spotted a doe and was able to get within 30 yards form her. After seeing that doe I thought it would be a good day but I was wrong. Saw nothing else the rest of the day except for a few rabbits.

I was contemplating going out there on the last weekend but the weather conditions were not favorable in this area. I still had a wonderful season with an elk taken in CO and a deer in AZ.

Coues hunting where I hunt is a bit different where I hunt from other areas. Alot more vegetation and more still hunting rather than glassing.

Next and last on the list for this season is AZ Javelina.

Too bad,sorry to hear that.
What unit?
I have been seeing more coues than ever the last few yrs.
Contemplating putting in this yr since mulies are about invisible these days.
Hunt them like blacktails.

I was hunting unit 24 in NM. I have seen Coues in the unit, I just didn't have the time this year. Lot of things came up after the draws. May try for coues again next season or may try the SE part of the state for mulies.

Their down there in 24, but it is very thick.
Bout the only place that hasn't been burnt bad really lately.
Like seeing those white flags flying around in the woods for sure. Very cool little deer.
Nice shooter!
I was leaning towards my Win 94' 30-30.
