I been thinking about getting a new spotter.

My old $29 Tasco is getting hard to focus, and its makeing funny ratteling noises.

After careful reserch, I'm leaning towards the Nikon XL, a compact, waterproof, phase corrected unit ( 16-47 X 60mm)
It comes in a kit with a case and tripod for about $450
Any ideas or commits ?
Theres no way I can afford a Leica or Swarovski, heck I can't even afford the Nikon.

Hi Dan,
I don't think you can go wrong with the Nikon. Myself, I prefer binoculars over a spotting scope. I have a pair of 16x pentax that i tripod mount.

When glassing for hours on end they work better for me. When I only use one eye I end up with a big headache. My two cents worth.
