Well, following online auctions can get you in trouble. Stumbled onto a winchester 94 that I was not familiar with. Its a 94ae xtr in 307 win. The more I read the more intrigued I became with it. Yes I know its essentially the 308 marlin but to my knowledge that cartridge was never chambered for the 94. This model has the raised comb to better fit a scope. Ammo was a real pain to find but I have gotten some factory 150 and 180 grn stuff. I'll likely reload for it but couldn't find brass at all.

If any of you guys have any experience with this round or advise on loading for it I would like to hear from you. I'll post a pic when it gets here. I think it will be a neat woods gun for deer.

For those of you not familiar, the 307 is a rimmed 308 case. You use a 308 reloading die with a 30-30 shell holder. It was kinda the levrevilution just before its time. Reminds me of the 284 win, just too soon, late, misunderstood or something.

Great find. Very cool rifle. If you can find a .356 to go with it, you have a hell of a neat pair of lever guns. This was a way that Winchester tried to revitalize the model 94 and modernize it. Any pics of it? Love to see it.

The Leverlution, or however it's spelled, bullets would really allow that 307 to stretch its legs!
