New threat to 2nd A?

And therein lies a major problem. The White House as a whole has a very difficult time telling the truth. You have high ranking officials putting their spin and narrative on these events before the body is cold, despite video evidence that contradicts their narrative.

There is absolutely no trust for me in this administration and as such their entire agenda now lacks legitimacy. It is performative politics at best.

Saw a bit from Bovino today where he refused to speculate on the legitimacy of the shooting until an investigation was done and almost within the same breath speculated that the victim was there to kill ICE agents.

I don't know what the man was thinking or doing or what his intentions actually were by getting involved. I just hope it was something he felt was worth dying for.

Personally, I can guarantee that I wont be protesting ICE in a crime riddled city that is high on adrenaline, getting pepper sprayed by armed government agents, wrestled to the ground and used for target practice.

That wont be how my life ends.

One thing that I find interesting an about all I have to say a it is why hasn’t the governor and mayor come out and told people to stop following ice. If you wanna peacefully protest set it up an have a ball. But the amount of bullshit that they are adding to those agents is ridiculous you guys sit here and say it’s a bunch of hacks and amateur seems like a brilliant idea to me to go and make their job harder and make them feel like they are in a even more dangerous situation.

I tend to avoid anywhere that has a bunch of nonsensical people with signs, flags, pepper spray, guns, etc.... It’s working well...for the whole staying alive thing.

Kinda why I avoid riot zones and don't mess with armed federal agents.

Feds and AWFFULs (affluent, white, fat, female, urban, liberals) are certainly not a crowd I intermix with intentionally

I’d rather go ice fishing and I don’t like ice fishing

So, I’m reading a lot of these comments (besides victim blaming) as, “if you see injustice, best bet is to stay home.” Doesn’t matter how much charged language you want to use, the point is the same.

Most people who go out to protest or stand up for something are hoping to make a difference, not expecting to get shot. And sorry, not sorry if protesting makes things harder/inconvenient for the government; that’s the point of protest.

When it’s acceptable that the only way to stay safe is to not stand up for something you believe in, then dissent is more necessary than ever. Doesn’t matter if you’re protesting ICE, or abortion, or anything on either side of the aisle. You don't have to like the person protesting, or agree with their methods (provided they’re legal), but dismissing a death by saying 'they shouldn't have been there' is pretty disheartening when thinking about the history/founding of this country. Also kind of surprising given the type of people on this forum (in my mind, freedom-loving, gun-toting advocates for things like hunting and conservation).

(And on another topic, if this is a prevailing attitude, no wonder we are losing so much ground in all things conservation, too.)

And to the guy that dislikes us “AWFFULS” (or simply, “WFFLish’s”), I guess it’s a good thing well behaved women rarely make history.

They already came to an agreement. Lessened ice presence, shithead Bovino and Ice Barbi are gone. Homan is taking over who’s at least experienced and competent.
I’ve always been a fan of Homan but the whole bribe scandal has been disappointing. But yeah at least what few clips I have seen of him speaking he doesn’t act like a middle schooler like the other ones

Honest question, has it been common for pepper spray to be used for protests like I keep seeing it used in the videos? Aggressively, approaching and point blank in people’s faces? I always thought it was meant to be a deterrent like how you use it for bears for defense not for playing offense. I had not ever noticed it being used like that in the past but maybe it has and that’s acceptable? Seems pretty aggressive to me. I also think it played a definite role in this shooting too as the victim definitely was disoriented by it in my opinion.

Honest question

What if your young adult son or daughter came to you and said "Dad or Mom im gonna go join the protests going on in Minnesota". What would you say or what advice would you give them?

The same thing I’d say if they said they wanted to join the military. That I would rather you not take the risk, but if you feel called to the duty of serving your country and fighting for freedom, I can’t help but be proud.

I’d tell them I’m proud they care enough about this country to stand for what they believe in. I’d remind them that the right to speak, protest, and assemble peacefully is one of the greatest freedoms we have as Americans.

Our freedoms are being threatened and actively disregarded on national television. I get why you’d want to go. Just be smart about it. Keep it peaceful, watch your surroundings, don’t get pulled into chaos, and don’t let anyone drag you into something that doesn’t feel safe.

Speak your mind, stand your ground, but come home safe.

Some percentage of conservatives are headed toward setting a precedent that the next administration will use to erode our gun rights. If this admin says it isn’t ok to have a gun at a protest then that will be enforced on conservative protests in the future. Too many of you think this is Bengals/Steelers or Duke/Carolina where there are two teams and you root for one or the other blindly. That isn’t the case. There are good people and bad ones on both sides. At best this ICE agent supremely f*<ked up at worst he executed a guy. No need to blindly fall in line. Turn off the Fox News and MSNBC for a while and look around the world is filled with grey areas.

There’s also the fact that many members of this administration supported Kyle Rittenhouse. The hypocrisy is crazy.

Kyle Rittenhouse got to brandish his weapon and shoot someone at the last MN protest…walking free.
