New stock for an old shotgun?

My dad has a break action single barrel 16 gauge that he still uses to hunt grouse and turkeys. I think it is 75 years old. (He is 91). Maybe its a Stevens or Sears or something. Still works. Very simple, serviceable gun. The stock, well, shows its age. I'm thinking of having it restocked if I can find someone who can do it for a reasonable fee. Nothing fancy. Anyone know of anyone who does work like this? Am I being utterly impractical?

I was looking to do similar with a Savage Stevens that allegedly belonged to my grandfather. The only options I found were stocks that might fit, but would absolutely need fitting. Anything can be restocked, but at what cost is the question. I'd ask @p_ham, I know he could 100% do it, but if he has time is the question. I know he works with a guy that specializes more in stocks, so maybe he can connect you with someone if he is too busy personally.

It depends if you can find a replacement. You could have a custome one made but not sure it would be worth it.

How bad is the stock. A lot of people have reconditioned their stocks to be almost new. I’ve reconditioned two of my old stocks. There are videos out how to do it.

Dents can be steamed out, cracks filled in. Strip the finish off and refinish. I would highly recommend looking into that before buying a new one.

Buttstock is cracked down from the grip.
