The changes to the new bear regulations are interesting now that I’m looking at the regs. Region 6 now has a quota of 4 bears, no bear hunting was allowed there before. Region 1 no longer requires checking bears in person.

The big change is hound hunting, obviously, and I’m pretty happy with how they introduced it. No hound hunting is permitted in the listed districts with occupied grizzly habitat. Nonresident hound licenses are the same as for lion hunting, with a cap on the number of licenses available per district.

Green grass and sunny afternoons in the mountains can’t get here soon enough.

I’ve always wondered how many bears there are in the Little Rockies, can’t be many. It’s a cool little range.

HMMM Running hounds through the mountains while wolves have pups in the ground...what could go wrong.
