Here we are, 2018 already. Time sure does fly. The last time I visited Wyoming was to hunt antelope in a tough to draw unit 61. I believe that is unit 87 for mule deer. We both ate our tags even though we spotted many antelope in the 70-75" range and probably a few a little better than that. Assuming my field judging skills being adequate. It was a great adventure. Met some super local people and a rancher allowed us to hunt his land and park our camper in the shadow of a mountain range. Anyway, that was 5 years ago now. We have not gone on any adventures since. I have been accumulating preference points in Wyoming since they came out. Forgot one year so we have one less than maximum for both elk and mule deer. We would like to plan a hunt for either. I have always liked the idea of planning my own hunt but would certainly be grateful for advice. I am also open to a hunt swap or fishing adventure swap. I am an accomplished local angler and knowledgeable whitetail hunter here in NW Ontario.

87 is great deer unit. I have seen lots of really nice bulls in 16 elk right next to it. Will take max nr points to draw either. Good luck. Richard

I hunted the northwest corner of Wyoming last fall and saw some great bull elk.
Unfortunately they were in units that joined mine and those units take 10+ points to draw. I just don't see me building points that long. I drew my elk tag with 4 points and several super nice bulls were taken in my unit the first week I was there in October. I just wasn't in the right spot on the spot ,to see one myself. I'm planning on going back again as soon as I can draw a tag.
I'll.send you a PM if you are not against hunting in grizzly country.
