New guy from northeastern CA

We have a little of everything up here. It’s great place to live if you can stomach the California politics . I can see by your member name your a Brittany fan. I have 4 so you can only imagine how busy they keep me. Lucky I have some acreage for them to run.

It is great country. I was born in Susanville 72 years ago. My folks moved when I was young for better opportunity. I moved back in 76 and left in 93. Saw the changes. I had Brits for 43 years from the same bloodline from a Lassen Co. sheriff. Love that high desert country and into Nevada. Hunted 5B many times , some before the draws came to be. Chukar on Skeedadle, Snowstorm, Shaffer and some spots closed to town. I miss that country.

I always joke I’m going to shoot a 3 eyed four legged chukar one those mountains due to the ordinance the base used to blow up inside the mountain :). I’m sure you were around during those times. Good to hear from a susanville native

Welcome from Colorado!

My buddy and I duck hunted the Klamath Waterfowl Refuge every thanksgiving for a few years back in the late ‘80’s early 90’s

Yes, it would really boom. Seems like it was a certain day of the week when they would blow them.

I’m a little late, but welcome. We moved to the Susanville area in 91. Hunted deer, doves, quail and chukar all over that area. Fished Eagle lake, Antelope lake and others out of Ravendale. Also stream fished several areas. My wife’s family owns property up by Last Chance creek. Used to have a cabin there that the Forest Service let burn down in the Walker fire. I worked and retired from the Maintenance dept. at Lassen High. We moved out of CA. to Wyoming in 2022. Mainly because of family living in WY., but we definitely don’t miss the crazy liberal policies in CA.
