IIRC for starters solid copper bullets need about 3 grains less powder than lead core bullets of identical weight. As powders can also vary from lot to lot I'd make that 4 grains just to be safe. While your loads may be a little hot you're not close to blowing up the rifle. This assumes that there are no other factors like cases too long or necks too thick.

We were useing 150gr Hornady CX so we used the Barnes 150gr data.

Same weight is NOT the same bullet .

Sounds like you guys put a bunch of work in and got a turdburger range day. But you’re learning and helping us all learn too. Here’s my thinking about the next trip:
-cases full length sized.
-cases trimmed same length.
-cases cleaned to ensure no lube spikes pressure.
-load minimum throws using Hornady GMX data.

If that still fails then the hell with it. 150g is the max you would shoot anyway with 7mm, right? Maybe buy up some 139g as well and test those with the same standards.
