I live in VA and love to elk hunt. I have hunted in Idaho and Oregon on over the counter tags and am collecting points in Utah. I have a friend that wants to go on an elk hunt next year with a rifle and I was looking for suggestions. I plan on putting in for a controlled hunt in Idaho and NewMexico. We can not afford an outfitter nor can we put in for a bunch of states because we would have to first purchase a nonresident license. Please comment with any and all suggestions. Thanks!
