Nebraska National Forest at Halsey

I know it’s a pretty popular place for NR’s to hunt deer. It’s on fire now. I’ve heard 15,000 acres burnt, the 4-H center, lookout tower, and tree farm all gone. If you were planning on going there you may want to look into it.

It appears it didn’t get as much of the Forest as it did when it jumped Highway 2.

It's a fairly small portion. Plus it's a planted forest in the middle of a fire dependent grassland...it was a matter of time.

Yep, don’t disagree. I’ve just seen an army of people from Minnesota and Wisconsin in/around there during deer season. I shoulda looked at the map first, it didn’t ding the forest that much other than buggering up access to a couple places.

I’ve seen them mostly during firearm.
