NE NODAK Deer

In the process of picking where to go for my early season (mid to late Sept) deer hunt this year and am considering far NE North Dakota near Canadian border and the town of Walhalla specifically.

There is quite a bit of public ground available along the Pembina River that has caught my attention.

Has anyone ever hunted or visited this area?

I believe there are elk and moose in this region. I have found little information on the deer herd but based on maps, it sure looks like quality habitat and an adventurous place to hunt.

there are definitely elk and moose in that area, not very familiar with it though.

Find a trail, find food, find water and setup on it. Easy peas. Good chance of success up that way.
