I recently got the Sawtooth 45. Was looking for people's input on the Back Strap. Does anyone have experience with it? Is saving the 2lbs on the second or third trip worth the 50$? Thank you.

I'm curious too. Would love to hear how people manage water snacks rain gear etc
I use mine for training, but I think you could put the lid on at the same time. Use the clips to the frame and then hold it down with the back strap on the way up. On the way down you might have to get creative so it is not flopping around.
Note the ends on the attachment straps are not sewn the same and are super difficult to get on the frame. I wrote to MR and their response was crap. I told them to sew the ends the same as the pack and they said we are aware and we are looking for a solution. I gave them the solution.
