My first wild boar

My first hog! This boar came in at 400lbs! I was watching an old corn field that the pigs were destroying and out of the thickest, nastiest stuff this monstrosity gets up just before dark! Had to wait for about an hour for him to get into a clearing in the corn where I had a clear shot at his vitals! My 180 grain .308 round did its job as you see in the picture. Ran 10 feet and hit the ground with a big thud! When we gutted him he was missing the whole lower half of his heart! Still can't believe how built these pigs are, sounded like I shot a brick when I hit him! Definitely a time I'll always remember!

Nice! Hard to imagine a pig that color living long enough to reach that size. They do like to live in the thick nasty stuff though.

That's a nice Boar! You think it could be an escaped farm pig? I heard they turn feral in a matter of a couple weeks. The pigs we get down here are mostly black.

True, most are black, but I’ve shot black pigs, white pigs, reddish brown pigs and spotted pigs. They’re all delicious.
