elkmagnet, tip from mighty me is to hide your backpack camps from the trail to aviod possible tickets from the USFS. They won't leave the trail to look for a camp, and to inspect if you have a bag of oatmeal (or how they like to explain it.. "a tube of toothpaste"), not elevated 10 feet from the ground and 4 feet out. I speak from experience.
