Mounted sheds?

I mounted a heavy 360 class set a few years ago. I drilled and epoxied 3/8" all thread into each butt. then bolted them into some pieces of 2" angle iron I had fabricated into the proper angles and configuration of a skull pedicles. I finished the plaque mount with plaster of paris and covered it with buckskin. This project took a long time and though it came out well, I swore I would never do another.
I haven't used one of the faux Elk skull kits yet but have heard of good results on deer.

I've done more than my share of them. I don't recommend using one of this kits for sheds. I use 1/2 or 3/4 inch solid square stock epoxied into the antler. 4-5 inches into antler is usually enough. Then some 1/4" flat bar or plate to weld the stock to. Usually takes 2 people to line everything up. Get them tacked and then reinforce with fiberlglass matt and resin. Solid as can be with very little flex.

Here is a heavy 6x6 that I put together with a kit from VanDykes. I had to make a cover out of foam and covered it with brown velvet as the kit only had the part to put the two sheds together.

I found my first match today and was thinking about using one of those antler kits...will let you know how it turns out if I do'

I bought a van Dyke kit but it seemed to put them too close together. Never really looked "right" .

sheds

I had an extra cape so I put is to use on these sheds. I hope to find a bigger set and that way I can change them out. Something different to look at.

I had a couple sets from my dads bull mounted on the faux skulls. Ill have to see if I had any pictures. They came out OK, but im not sure If i would do it again. My dad loves them and anytime another hunter stops by they get the whole story of his bull.
