You should be able draw a pronghorn unit in WY with lots of public land that hold pronghorn population and high success rates on mature bucks even with 6 - 10 points. A 14" buck is rather large for the West. You could hunt a lot of places and not harvest a 16" but that would be very large. On the wall, the 14" buck might look more interesting depending on mass, length of cutters and if has ivory tips in a heart shape so "trophy" is what you want it to be.
You can hunt pronghorn by drawing a second choice in WY and still build points for a better unit. Many of the 2nd choice units have success rates around 50% and most of the challenge is figuring out public land and being patient for pronghorn to move back from private land after the pressure opens up the first few days. One strategy is to show up a week after season begins as will be fewer hunters active.
You can build points in MT, CO, UT and NV then probably draw as a non-resident in each of those states in a 10-15 year window. NM is a tough draw as a DIY non-resident but you might draw in a 10 year window. If were wanting to use a guide then you certainly would draw by then in NM. Or could buy a landowner tag every year in NM. AZ might take 30 years to draw as a non-resident.
Pronghorn is my favorite big game critter to hunt that is likely to draw in a decade or less as a non-resident in several states. I have hunted pronghorn in OR, WY, MT, NV, UT, NM and TX. I have a bunch of points in CO so will hunt pronghorn there at some point. Same for AZ. My best couple are over 16" though most are around 14" as I seek out non-typical pronghorn bucks which are my white whale evidently.
