I have been building my lightweight back packing rifle for about 2 years now. I am onto my third stock and second bipod (looking for a third). I am wanting to steal my 20 MOA Pic rail and rings off of this rifle to put on another build. So I am looking for some lightweight one piece rings and bases. I have used the leupold Backcountry mounts before and didn't have a problem but I recently saw that Talley has similar rings. TBH I don't know why one is better or worse than the other. I don't want to put a cheek riser on the pure precision stock that I just ordered so I want the lowest rings I can get. I'm running a Leupold VX-5 3.5-15X44. I am sure I'm missing some others. Lmk your suggestions!
TIA

Are you talking rings and base as one unit?

Or a one piece base and separate rings?

If the second, I use EGW's one piece base on anything that will take them.

They are kinda tall, so I pair them with low rings.
Their Keystone line are some serious rings! Not light, but bullet proof so to speak.

For light weight rings I'm using Vortex Viper rings.
Light weight, and good quality.
I haven't had a scope slip yet with them.

I use Talley lightweights without issues. Others on HT have reported issues.
FWIW - After hearing other's stories, I started lapping all my scope mount jobs. The Wheeler lapping kit is worth every penny.
